Phone affordability check: what you need to apply

An affordability check compares your monthly income with your expenses to make sure you can comfortably pay the monthly amount. To apply at EzMobile you need a South African ID, a cellphone number, your latest payslip or proof of income, and a bank account for the debit order.

How the check works

You tell us your income and main expenses. We confirm these and look at your payment behaviour. The goal is a plan you can keep up with, not just a credit score.

Documents checklist

Valid SA ID (green book or smart card), a working cellphone number, latest payslip or 3 months' bank statements, and a bank account in your name.

Common questions

Can I apply if I'm self-employed?+

Yes. Bank statements showing regular income can be used instead of a payslip.

How long does it take?+

Most applicants get an answer in under 5 minutes.

General information only, not financial advice. Approval is subject to affordability checks.
